Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Sunday announced the promotion of four senior commanders of both Police and prisons to the highest ranks in the two security organs.
In the new promotions, Inspector General of Rwanda National Police Dan Munyuza was promoted to Commissioner-General in Rwanda National Police (RNP) while Juvenal Marizamunda recently appointed as Commissioner General of Rwanda Correctional Service (RCS) was also promoted Deputy Commissioner General in the same entity.
The promotions also saw Deputy Commissioner General of RCS Chantal Ujeneza promoted to Deputy Commissioner General of Rwanda National Police (RNP).
In other promotions, the long serving Commissioner of Police Felix Namuhoranye in charge of Police operations was elevated to Deputy Commissioner General of the Police.
The last time Kagame promoted police officers was in June last year which witnessed 2,282 Police Officers to different ranks and granted retirement and discharged 261 others.
Among those promoted include three women among the officers raised to senior positions of leadership within the police force and intelligence departments.
