Beleaguered African National Congress (ANC) secretary general Ace Magashule must apologise by the end of this week for “suspending” President Cyril Ramaphosa from the ruling party, ANC deputy secretary general Jesse Duarte said on Wednesday.
Magashule was ordered to make the apology to the party and the public for writing a letter last week in which he allegedly suspended Ramaphosa for suspending him hours earlier.
The senior party official’s suspension followed his refusal to step aside from his party post pending finalisation of his court case over alleged corrupt dealings when he was premier of Free State province.
There has been no reaction from Magashule on the demand for an apology.
