President Macky Sall on Tuesday signed into law a law abolishing the position of Prime Minister and in the same breath renewed his confidence in the new ministers and secretaries of state before the constitutional review, the presidency announced in a statement quoting the decree.
With this measure, Mahammad Boun Abdallah Dionne’s position as Prime Minister has been permanently removed from the government’s agenda, following the adoption by deputies on May 4 of the bill to abolish it.
However, Mr. Dionne returns to his positions as Minister of State and Secretary General of the Presidency in the same way as the 32 ministers and three Secretaries of State that President Sall appointed after his second inauguration in April
