President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal, on Tuesday, inaugurated in Dakar a museum dedicated to the life and work of the Prophet Muhammad.
It’s a project supported by Saudi Arabia to strengthen cultural and spiritual ties between Muslim nations.
“Today, I inaugurated in Dakar an exceptional museum dedicated to the life and work of the Prophet Muhammad, a timeless model of mercy, justice and peace,” Bassirou Diomaye Faye said during the opening ceremony.
The Senegalese leader expressed Senegal’s gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support in the realisation of the project.
The museum aims to be a center of knowledge and transmission intended to promote a better understanding of the Prophet’s legacy and to serve as a vector of peace and brotherhood.
“May this museum be a source of inspiration for all, a bridge to a better understanding between
cultures and a vector of peace and brotherhood,” President Faye said.
The inauguration of this space comes as Senegal, a Muslim majority country, strengthens its relations with Saudi Arabia in the religious and educational spheres.
