APA – Dakar (Senegal) – This programme focuses on industrialisation, job creation and attracting investment.
The Agence nationale d’aménagement du territoire (National Spatial Planning Agency, ANAT) is continuing to publicise the ‘Programme national d’appui à la valorisation des ressources territoriales (National Programme to Support the Development of Local Resources, PAVART). Thus, its Director General, Mamadou Djigo, will be presenting it to the Senegalese diaspora in Paris from 26 to 28 September 2023 through conferences, workshops and individual meetings, according to an ANAT press release received by APA on Monday.
“PAVART is a strategic initiative of ANAT, aimed at developing the whole of Senegal in a balanced and sustainable manner. This programme (…) is based on three fundamental pillars: industrialisation, job creation and attracting investment. Through an integrated and inclusive approach, PAVART aims to boost the Senegalese economy while preserving natural resources and promoting the well-being of local communities”, the document explains.
During his visit to Paris, Mamadou Djigo will meet with the Senegalese Diaspora to present the various components of PAVART and discuss investment opportunities in various key sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, renewable energies and many others. The meeting will also serve to strengthen ties between the diaspora and Senegal, and encourage their active involvement in the country’s economic and social development.
“The Senegalese diaspora is a precious asset for Senegal’s development. We would like to introduce them to PAVART, an ambitious plan that offers numerous opportunities for investment and collaboration. We invite Senegalese abroad to play an active part in building a prosperous and sustainable Senegal,” the press release said quoting Mr. Djigo.
