President Sall, who was the candidate of the coalition “Benno Bokk Yaakaar” is followed in order by Idrissa Seck with 898,674 votes (20.50 percent) of the votes, by Ousmane Sonko with 687,065 (15.67 percent) of the votes, Issa Sall with 178,533 (4.07 percent) of the votes, and finally Madické Niang with 65,003 votes (1.48 percent) of the votes.
The five candidates now have three days to lodge appeals with the Constitutional Council, which, after their examination, will give the final results of the presidential election.
According to the National Vote Counting Commission, the turnout rate was 66.23 percent. The number of voters was 4,426,344 and there were 42,465 invalid ballots as there were 4,383,879 valid votes cast.
A total of 6,683,043 voters were registered on the electoral rolls for this election, which was supervised by 5002 foreign and domestic observers from 14 observation missions accredited by the Interior Ministry.
