Senegalese police has seized 72 kilograms of cocaine from a shipment originating from Guinea-Bissau, reports said on Friday.
The seizure of the cocaine estimated at 3.3 billion CFA francs, was made two days ago. It was made possible by the close collaboration between the Guinea-Bissau and Senegalese police forces. It was the elements of the Guénoto Customs post in the Tambacounda region (450 km from Dakar) that seized the drugs transported by a Malian man.
On March 9, four people were arrested in Bissau with 789 kg of pure cocaine in their possession. But according to the Guinea-Bissau judicial police, “the cocaine seized in Guénoto has nothing to do with the one seized on March 9. It would belong to another cartel.”
However, a source from the Guinea-Bissau judicial police claimed that it is the same gang of dealers.
