Senegal’s President Macky Sall is in the United States, on the occasion of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which begins today Monday, September 20, 2021.
Macky Sall, according to a statement from the Presidency, will address the plenary session of the UN Assembly and take part in events on the sidelines of the Session. In addition, the Head of State has scheduled “several bilateral meetings” before returning on September 25.
The General Assembly is the main deliberative, decision-making and representative body of the United Nations. All 193 member states are represented in it. This makes it the only body of the United Nations that offers universal representation. Each year in September, the entire membership meets at the General Assembly in New York for the annual session.
