The current Chairman of the African Union (AU) will deliver a speech this afternoon at the 77th Ordinary Session of the General Assembly in New York (USA).

Macky Sall, after attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London, England, headed to the United States.
The Senegalese president will participate, from 20 to 23 September 2022, in the high-level segment of the 77th regular session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Heads of state and government from around the world will discuss the theme: “Critical Juncture: Transformative Solutions to Interconnected Challenges.”
Discussions will focus on the war in Ukraine, climate change, energy transition, education and the status of women.
Sall who is Felix Tshisekedi’s successor as current Chairman of the African Union (AU) will seek to make the voice of the continent heard on current issues.
The schedule for the 77th regular session of the UN General Assembly includes the summit on transforming education (September 19), the general debate (September 20-26), the ministerial summit on information and democracy (September 22), the Christchurch Summit on combating online, terrorist and violent extremist content and the Security Council ministerial meeting on Ukraine.
