APA-Dakar (Senegal) Senegalese Head of State has refuted any idea of wanting to remain at the head of the country beyond the end of his second and final term.
On April 2, 2024, Macky Sall will no longer be President of the Republic of Senegal. He made the announcement himself on Thursday in an interview with some of the national media.
“With all that I have done for this country, I don’t want to be the subject of sterile controversy. Let’s be clear: on 2 April, my contract with the Senegalese people will be over,” he hammered.
As for the new date for the presidential election, he assured that it would be set by the national dialogue which opens “this Monday.” According to Macky Sall, all the presidential candidates will take part in this meeting, which will last until Tuesday.
