Sierra Leone’s year-on-year inflation stood at 10.88% in August, up from 10.50% in July, according to Statistics Sierra Leone’s press release on Thursday.
The prices of transport (9.25%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotic (4.69%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.97%), restaurant and hotels (1.25%), and recreation and culture (0.97%) increased over the period.
However, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverage (0.52%), furniture, household equipment (1.37%), health (0.21%), clothing and footwear (0.03%), communication (2.46%), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.73%) declined in August.
