Sierra Leone’s year-on-year inflation stood at 9.60% in April, up from 8.95% in March, according to a Statistics Sierra Leone press release dated on May 21, 2021.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverage (0.19%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotic (3.82%), clothing and footwear (1.82%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (4.47%), transport (1.80%), restaurant and hotels (0.74%) increased over the period.
However, the prices of furniture, household equipment (0.90%), health (1.43%), communication (0.01%), recreation and culture (0.50%) and miscellaneous goods and services (1.97%) declined in April. The prices of education were stable.
