APA – Kigali (Rwanda) – The Guinean President of transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, on Thursday appointed Souleymane Savané as the first Ambassador to Rwanda based in Kigali.
As the official representative of Guinea Conakry, Souleymane Savané will play a key role in strengthening political, economic and cultural ties between the two nations, helping to foster a mutually beneficial partnership, according ti a presidential decree seen by APA in Kigali.
As part of efforts to develop certain socio-economic sectors of the Western African country, Guinean authorities intend to draw inspiration from Rwanda, particularly in information and communication technologies, it said.
This decision marks an important step in the Guinean government’s efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In April 2023, Rwandan President Paul Kagame made an official visit of nearly 48 hours to Conakry, the capital of Guinea. Several cooperation agreements were then signed between e two countries. Key new areas of cooperation include diplomacy, economy, security, agriculture, mining, culture, information and communication technologies.
