Sudan’s ousted president of thirty years, Omar al-Bashir has been charged over the killing of dozens of protesters during a wave of demonstrations that had gripped the country since December.
The public prosecutor said on Monday that Bashir is being charged with the incitement of security forces to shoot and kill protesters.
An inquiry into the killing of a doctor treating injured protesters had found Bashir culpable for the killings but it is not clear when the 76-year old will appear personally in court to respond to the charges.
He is reportedly being detained at an undisclosed location since his ouster on April 11, ending thirty years of his rule over Sudan.
The Sudanese judiciary said it is also investigating Bashir over suspect links to money laundering and financing terrorism.
