According to the statement dated January 4, the exercise will look to update the number of workers within the civil service, which is estimated at around 60,000, including external staff involved in the provision of public services.
The last civil servant census was held in November 2011.
Led by former minister Esso Solitoki, who is currently an adviser for the Togolese Presidency, it had made it possible to estimate the number of civil servants at 50,400.
