The Ivorian economic capital, Abidjan, hosts from 21 to 25 November 2022, the Tunisian Agri-Tech week in Cote d’Ivoire.
On this occasion, six Tunisian Agri-Tech companies and about 50 Ivorian companies will take part in a rich program of B to B meetings, conferences and visits.
Cote d’Ivoire is the second stage of this event called “Week of Tunisian Agri-Tech” after Senegal. It was organized by the Tunisia-Cote d’Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The country is positioned as a major international player with several agricultural products (cocoa, coffee, cashew, rubber, cotton, palm oil …) and the digitization of its agriculture is one of the ways to improve its competitiveness on the global market.
The Tunisian Agri-Tech Week aims to bring together Tunisian technology companies and Ivorian start-ups to build technical and commercial partnerships to present a joint and complementary offer.
These solutions should provide answers to the countries of the sub-region and the continent seeking to achieve food self-sufficiency in a context of rapid population growth and worsening effects of climate change.
Mr. Walid Gaddas, the CEO of Stecia International, the organizer of the event, said that the Tunisian Agri-Tech Week in Abidjan has the “ambition to develop South-South cooperation in the digitalization of agriculture.”
The technologies that will be presented at this 2nd stage of the Tunisian Agri-tech Week have been designed in Africa and for Africa. They have already proven themselves in Tunisia but also in several countries in West Africa.
According to the Vice President of the Tunisia-Cote d’Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ismaila Patrick M’Bengue, the objective of this event is to serve the growth, boost economic relations and allow “smart and sustainable agriculture.”
The representative of six Tunisian technology companies of Agri-tech, Yasser Bououd, said that this initiative aims to develop South-South partnerships so that the continent is full of local smart technological solutions.
