Located in Ouagadougou’s District 2000, the new administrative complex was built on an area of approximately 8000 m².
The land on which the infrastructure stands is part of an area of approximately 14,000 m² allocated to the UEMOA Commission by Burkina Faso.
The commission of the community institution has requested and obtained from the Council of Ministers the authorisation to build the administrative complex in order to “cope with the increase in the number of its staff and to offer officials, agents and experts an appropriate and user-friendly working environment, while reducing rental charges,” according to a UEMOA document.
The main building of the administrative complex is 5 floors high, with a car park that can hold 40 cars.
In total, the administrative complex includes 186 offices and seven meeting rooms with 30 to 60 seats.
It has a 150-seater conference room with translation booths.
