The anniversary is being marked under the theme, “25 years of progress towards regional integration, together to meet the challenge of the movement of people and goods” official sources revealed on Tuesday.
The event will be held in the Ouagadougou headquarters of the sub-regional institution, according to a statement on its official website.
This commemoration, which will be witnessed by Burkinabe President, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, will bring together members of the statutory Council of Ministers, presidents of institutions and members of organs, representatives of inter-African and international organizations as well as staff of the sub-regional bloc.
Established in 1994, UEMOA is a West African organization whose main mission is to achieve regional integration among its member countries.
They number eight, namely Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Togo, Niger and Mali.
