According to the visiting Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, Hungary has designated Uganda as a strategic development partner where all her overseas development projects for Africa will be concentrated to sustainably development and transformation of the continent as part of its support to Uganda’s aspirations towards its socio-economic transformation.
The Minister who called on Uganda’s Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi at his office in Kampala also explained that the two Governments through their Exterior Ministries had signed a framework that will set parameters for cooperation for the provision of technical assistance, training expertise, consultancy and other services, scholarships among others.
The Minister who is in Uganda on his first tour of the African region said Hungary wishes to be Uganda’s closest development partner in a mutual relationship that will benefit both countries and their peoples.
Uganda’s Vice President urged Hungary business people to consider exploring broader interests in agriculture to support Uganda’s efforts in graduating from production of raw materials to processed Agro products that can be sold in Hungary.
He said that the relationship between the two countries will continue being strengthened for the successful cooperation of the two counties and their peoples adding that trading together will further concretise people to people relations which will further facilitate stronger ties and understanding between the two countries.
