The two-week training which ended on Monday, at Police headquarters in Kampala, was led by German Federal Police trainers.
The officers have been trained to track narcotic dealers, carrying out high tech examination and checks at airports and borders, analyze different drug contents and many more advanced forensic skills.
Commissioner Uganda Police Force Tumuhimbise highlighted the need for international cooperation to fight drug traffickers.
“Drug trafficking is a transnational crime. One country may not curb the crime alone,” he added.
Carl Hein, the Chief Trainer appreciated police officers for the professionalism and readiness to learn which they exhibited during the training.
“It was a good combination of experienced and young officers, so there was a good intellect between us,” he noted.
Uganda and Kenya were chosen to be trained as part of the East African project against narcotics.
