United Kingdom-based ground handling specialists Menzies Aviation has opened its new cargo facility at Mozambique’s Maputo International Airport.
Menzies senior vice president for cargo business Al-Anood Al-Suwaidi said the state-of-the-art facility is expected to enhance Mozambique’s freight capacity and marked a significant expansion of Menzies’ operations in eastern and southern Africa.
“This represents the next exciting step in Menzies’ cargo expansion strategy, which has seen us expand our footprint right across the globe,” Al-Suwaidi said.
He revealed that the state-of-the-art facility would allow Menzies to provide best in class services to our airline customers while supporting the region’s air cargo sector.
The new cargo warehouse, equipped with advanced technology and high-end facilities, is expected to enable Menzies to provide efficient and safe handling services for various airlines, including launch customers Airlink and Qatar Airways.
A leading service partner for airports and airlines worldwide, Menzies Aviation has been operational at Maputo International Airport since 2018, initially under the name National Aviation Services until rebranding in 2022.
The company launched two exclusive lounges at the airport’s international and domestic terminals and expanded its services to include comprehensive Meet-and-Assist and ground handling operations in 2019.
