The United States Marine Raiders are currently engaged in the training of 26 Nigerian naval officers on maritime security, field medical training and counterterrorism.
Nigeria’s specialized maritime publication, Ships and Ports, on Thursday quoted the tweet by the U.S. mission in Nigeria as saying that the training, which is currently ongoing at Ojo, in Lagos State, is part of the enduring security partnership between the United States and Nigeria.
The training, according to the tweet, is part of the annual Joint Combined Exercise and Training between the U.S. and Nigerian Special Forces.
It added that the training also demonstrates the close security relationship between Nigeria and the United States.
