It “strongly” condemned, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, what it called a “terrorist attack” carried out on August 24 in the town of Barsalogho, located in the Centre-Nord region.
“We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and support efforts to bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous act,” Washington said through its diplomatic representation based in Ouagadougou.
The United States also expressed concern for the millions of people who have been driven from their homes by the current terrorist violence.

On Saturday, August 24, terrorists burst into the town of Barsalogho and opened fire on civilians and soldiers while they were doing community work, causing several hundred casualties and wounded people who were evacuated to Kaya.
A delegation from the Transitional Government visited the wounded and the site of the attack to express the authorities’ compassion.
