Morocco is stepping up its efforts to transform the agri-food system and promote the development of a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable model, the World Bank stressed.
The partnership between the World Bank (WB) and Morocco is strong, healthy and constantly evolving, the WB Vice-President for the Middle East and North Africa, Ousmane Dione, said on Monday in Rabat.
“We discussed Morocco’s priorities, the extremely encouraging reforms it is undertaking and the possibility of continuing to support it in its development agenda,” Mr. Dione told journalists after his meetings with the head of the Moroccan government, Aziz Akhannouch.
In this regard, he welcomed the social reforms undertaken by Morocco, particularly those related to the consolidation of the pillars of the social state, noting that the international financial institution will support the kingdom’s efforts for determining future deadlines.
Mr. Dione expressed the World Bank’s willingness to support Morocco in its innovation and economic growth projects, and to support the innovative social reforms undertaken by the kingdom and its employment agenda, so that “it continues to perform both regionally and globally”.
The WB will bring added value to all of Morocco’s structures for sustained growth and quality employment, he said, expressing his wish to see this partnership reach higher levels.
