The Super Eagles of Nigeria were on Tuesday held to a 1-1 draw by the Zimbabwean national team in the World Cup qualifying match played on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State in southeastern Nigeria.
Victor Osimhen scored in the 74th minute for the Super Eagles after a goalless first half.
Despite dominating the game, the Super Eagles failed to increase the score line until the dying minutes of the match when the Zimbabwean striker Tawanda Chirewa got the equalizer for his side.
The desperate efforts made by the Super Eagles to score the winning goal were frustrated by the Zimbabweans and the match ended in 1-1 draw.
With this result, the Super Eagles which have 7 points from four draws and a 2-0 win against Rwanda is fourth in Group C and its qualification has been made more difficult by the latest result.
