Zimbabwe’s Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is in the Indian capital New Delhi to participate in the 19th CII-India Africa Business Conclave, a platform aimed at enhancing economic collaboration between India and African nations.
The event, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), seeks to foster business partnerships and investment opportunities across various sectors.
Chiwenga’s visit is part of a broader initiative to strengthen bilateral relations and explore avenues for trade and investment between India and Zimbabwe.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Monday that the two countries would use the visit to foster bilateral economic ties and advancing mutual interests in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare and mining.
The CII-India Africa Business Conclave brings together business leaders, policymakers and industry experts from across Africa and India, facilitating discussions on key issues and opportunities in the African market.
Chiwenga is expected to engage in high-level meetings with Indian officials and business leaders on the sidelines of the conclave to explore investment opportunities and bolster trade relations.
India is the fifth largest economy in the world, with a gross domestic product of US$3.7 trillion, according to figures from the country’s finance ministry.
