APA-Durban (South Africa) Former South African president Jacob Zuma has threatened to expose the “true colours” of politicians criticising the newly formed Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party.
Speaking during an MK meeting held in Verulam in the north of Durban on Tuesday, Zuma cautioned ruling African National Congress (ANC) officials to focus on substantive issues and avoid throwing insults at the new party because “we’ll reveal uncomfortable truths about them”.
He said the political leaders are “individuals known to us” and their true nature would be exposed for all to see.
“Hence, they should remain silent,” Zuma told supporters.
ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula is on record as saying the ANC would drag the MK party to court for using a copyrighted name.
Zuma, who is still an ANC member after 64 years, said recently he would not vote or campaign for his own party in next year’s polls as long as it is led by incumbent President Cyril Ramaphosa whom he described as “an agent of white capital who has declared war on black progressives and professionals.”
