The Moroccan Royal Navy Monday intercepted a rubber boat carrying 41 migrants approximately 118 kilometers northwest of the port of Tan-Tan, in southern Morocco.
According to a statement from the Royal Armed Forces all passengers on board were from Sub-Saharan African countries and were attempting to reach the Canary Islands in Spain.
Naval personnel provided first aid before safely transporting them to the port of Tan-Tan.
They were then transferred to the Royal Gendarmerie for further processing.
