The Ivorian government is easing health controls at Abidjan airport in view of the “moderate circulation” of Covid-19 and the validity of PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test results has been extended from 48 to 72 hours.
According to the Ivorian authorities, “the evolution of the moderate circulation of Covid-19” on the Ivorian territory and “in the absence of a new variant” explains these reductions, says a statement co-signed by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage.
For travelers to Cote d’Ivoire with proof of full vaccination, the PCR test is no longer required as a travel health document.
However, for travelers who are not or incompletely vaccinated, proof of a negative PCR test is required.
For outbound passengers, travelers with proof of full vaccination are exempt from the PCR test for countries that do not require it as an entry health document.
On the other hand, travelers who are not or incompletely vaccinated, proof of a negative PCR test is required as a travel health document, the release says.
In recent days, the rate of infection has dropped significantly in Cote d’Ivoire.
The results of virological tests have even revealed less than ten cases in recent days; a decline that reassures a revival of the economic activity affected by this health crisis.
