The Ethiopian national football team on Thursday lost 1-4 in its second match of the Africa Cup of Nations against Cameroon.
There were tears among the Ethiopia supporters at the end of the match, after they had taken the lead with a brilliantly executed goal in the 4th minute, stunning the hosts, only to see everything go against them.
Cameroon roared back with two magnificent goals each from Aboubakar and Toko-Ekambi – making the tournament hosts the first time to win with more than just one goal in a hitherto goal-shy CAN.
This resounding victory also puts Cameroon into the knockout rounds with one match to spare.
The later game, also in Group A, is the first-ever Afcon meeting between Cape Verde and Burkina Faso. Cape Verde edged out Ethiopia in their opener.
