APA-Brazzaville (The Congo) AGL (Africa Global Logistics) is Africa’s leading multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, sea and rail).
On November 30, 2023, over 500 employees from Africa Global Logistics Congo (AGL Congo), Congo Terminal and Terminaux du Bassin du Congo (TBC) took part in an awareness-raising session on prostate cancer led by cancerology professor Christian Ngatali.
Two online sessions covered the causes, consequences and available treatments. Staff over 50 at these subsidiaries also benefited from screening at partner medical facilities.
Last October, breast cancer awareness campaigns were also organized for female employees. More than 200 women from the 3 subsidiaries took part in these initiatives, which were coupled with screening: breast ultrasound for those aged 25 to 49, and mammography for those aged 50 and over.
“The health of our employees is as much a priority for us as improving working conditions and complying with safety regulations,” explains Christophe Pujalte, Regional Manager for Congo, DRC and Angola.
“The fight against breast and prostate cancer begins with awareness-raising and early detection. These two actions increase patients’ chances of recovery. It’s very encouraging to see AGL and its subsidiaries embracing such initiatives,” adds Christian Frousse Sidney Ngatali, Professor of oncology.
AGL is Africa’s leading multimodal logistics operator (port, logistics, sea and rail). The company is now part of the MSC Group, a leading shipping and logistics company.
Present in Congo in transport and logistics, AGL employs 1,500 Congolese through its agencies and its port and logistics subsidiaries. Based in Pointe Noire, Brazzaville and Dolisie, the company deploys QHSE management systems based on recognized standards such as ISO 4500. AGL is committed to enhancing the skills of its employees, and actively participates in the country’s socio-economic development through socially responsible actions in the fields of education, social reintegration, environmental preservation and humanitarian support
