Air Namibia will next week resume flights to neighbouring South Africa following a six-month hiatus triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the airline announced on Wednesday.
The airline said in a notice that it would resume flights to Johannesburg on October 28, which would be followed by a resumption of service to Cape Town on October 30.
There will be return flights to Johannesburg on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while the service to Cape Town will be on Fridays and Sunday, the airline said.
Air Namibia suspended regional and international flights in April following the introduction of a lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government has since September been gradually opening the country’s borders to allow international travel to enter and leave.
