IEC said in a statement on Monday that the second supplementary registration would be conducted from April 15-28 in all the 57 constituencies in an effort to avert low voter turnout during the October general elections.
“The supplementary registration will be conducted at all the 2,260 local polling stations and 36 external ones.
It said all the polling stations would open every day, including weekends, between 8am (0600 GMT) and 6pm during weekdays as well as between 9am and 4pm during weekends and public holidays.
IEC spokesperson Osupile Maroba said the commission was targeting at least 1.3 million voters out of the eligible 1.5 voters for the upcoming general elections.
He did not say how many had registered so far but information released by the IEC in January showed that just over 600,000 eligible voters had registered by the end of 2018.
