In a series of successful operations, customs officers intercepted 6,072 kilograms of amphetamines hidden in a truck bound for Mali on December 27th, 2024, 870 kilograms of Indian hemp concealed in the false tanks of a vehicle on the Bobo-Faramana axis, and 44.2 kilograms of Indian hemp found in a public transport vehicle on January 4th, 2025.
These seizures highlight the scale of drug trafficking networks operating in the sub-region. The Customs Directorate emphasized the serious consequences of drug use, including its impact on youth mental health, education, and societal stability.
The authorities have vowed to continue their efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle the criminal networks involved.
