The Minister of Security of Burkina Faso Mahamadou Sana, has officially launched a platform dedicated to reporting cybercrimes.
Named “Alerte-BCLCC,” and launched on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in Ouagadougou, the platform will allow citizens to report cybercrime incidents, such as the spreading of false information, terrorist propaganda and online scams in a safe and confidential manner.
The Commander of the Central Brigade for the Fight Against Cybercrime (BCLCC), Bantida Samire Yoni, explained that the platform is an effective tool designed to bring citizens closer to BCLCC services, given the alarming rise in cybercriminal activities.
According to the government, the platform can be accessed at alerte.bclcc.gov.bf and is available for download on smartphones and tablets.
The minister praised this “smart” initiative, which represents a significant step forward in the fight against these harmful practices.
“With this tool, our specialized forces will be able to respond more quickly, better analyze trends and strengthen their efforts to combat these new forms of crime,” Sana said.
