APA-Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) The Burkinabe government will from now on charter a single official vehicle to each minister and institution leader.
This is according to the minister in charge of the economy, Aboubacar Nacanabo at the close of last Wednesday’s Council of Ministers.
“Henceforth, each minister and head of an institution will be assigned a single vehicle, and the other vehicles will be placed in the central fleet and used according to need,” said Minister Nacanabo.
He explained that the council had adopted the draft decree laying down general regulations for the use of state vehicles and those of other public institutions.
In his view, the transitional government wants to reduce state expenditure, but also manage its vehicle fleet
rationally.
To this end, a software has been developed to manage the state’s vehicle fleet, enabling the government to know the status of each of these vehicles and the department in which it is located.
According to the minister, a geolocation system for state vehicles is also planned, to improve fleet management.
