A high-level Burundian delegation is in Senegal to study the implementation of the Emergency Community Development Program (PUDC), which the Central African country wants to replicate.
The delegation held a working session with Senegal’s Minister of Family and Solidarity, Maïmouna Dièye, alongside the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a team from Senegal’s PUDC.
According to a statement shared on social media, the Ministry of Family and Solidarity indicated that the Burundian delegation was led by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister.
“Minister Maïmouna Dièye praised this collaborative approach between Senegal and Burundi, which reflects a shared commitment to strengthening development initiatives for the benefit of vulnerable populations,” the ministry posted on Facebook, without specifying the start date or duration of the visit.
Launched in 2012 with the support of the UNDP, the PUDC is currently in its second phase.
The program aims to foster sustainable, integrated, and endogenous economic growth to reduce inequalities in access to basic social services between urban centers and rural areas.
