A day after his return to Cameroon following several weeks of absence that had fueled rumours about his
state of health, President Paul Biya took matters into his own hands by making several appointments within the Ministry of Defense.
By a decree signed on Tuesday, October 22, Cameroonian President Biya appointed several senior officers to key positions in the central administration and general staff. These decisions come at a time when his prolonged absence from the public scene had given rise to speculation.
At the General Inspectorate of the Armed Forces, three new inspectors have been appointed: Colonel Bindjeme Anglade Bobet, Captain Nitcheu Gabriel, and Colonel Ndoum Mvondo Joseph. The General Inspectorate of the Armed Forces welcomes two inspectors: Colonel Ayang Frederick Enoh and Captain Ele Mengue Marcel, while Colonel Ekanga Pierre Constantin has been appointed Technical Advisor.
Within the National Gendarmerie, Colonel Abdoulaye Amoa Abel was appointed Inspector at the General Inspectorate. In the central administration, Colonel Beyem Ebanga Armand became Deputy Central
Director of Logistics, and other appointments concerned administrative and financial affairs.
At the International War College, Colonel Ngassa Kouynou Gilles Ulrich became head of the General Education
Group. Other positions were assigned to managers in various sectors of the army, including logistics and operations.
