Delegations from the 13 member countries of CILSS, ECOWAS, UEMOA and other organisations from Africa and elsewhere in the world are expected to attend the meeting, organised by the Chadian government, in partnership with the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS).
“Safagri will be above all a place to give and receive, as well as to promote agro-sylvo-pastoral products. An opportunity for producers to identify potential partners for the development of their activities,” explained Chad’s Minister of Production, Irrigation and Agricultural Equipment, Lydie Beassemda, who was on the event’s organising committee.
The overall objective of this fair is to stimulate national and regional policies to transform agricultural value chains in West, Central and North Africa in response to the economic, climatic and security challenges currently facing African countries south of the Sahara.
