APA-Conakry (Guinea) Guinea’s junta leader has in the space of 24 hours, made a minor reshuffle of the transitional government, as well as the military.
On Tuesday, May 9, in a decree, Mamadi Doumbouya appointed General Sadiba Koulibaly, until then Chief of Staff of the Army, to the post of Minister of Urban Planning, Housing and Regional Development, responsible for recovering the so-called looted domains of the state.
The news was announced on the 8:30 pm news.
To everyone’s surprise, Sadiba Koulibaly was replaced the next day by retired General Ibrahima Kalil Conde, former Governor of the Kindia region.
The former chief of staff had been presented as the number two in the National Committee of the Rally for Development (CNRD) since the September 5th coup. His appointment took place on October 12, 2021.
The post of Minister of Urbanism, Housing and Land Management was held by General Ibrahima Sory Bangoura.
It is this officer that Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya has appointed as Chief of Staff of the Guinean army, replacing Sadiba Koulibaly.
In Conakry, this dismissal, which beats all records for ministers who have not lasted in their posts, is causing the gnashing of teeth.
Unofficial reports speak of a disagreement between the dismissed officer and the president of the transition, this information is denied by the former.
