Former opposition leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Etienne Tshisekedi, will be honored with a state funeral on Saturday in the presence of several heads of state including Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
Reports said that national mourning ceremony took place in Kinshasa Friday for late Tshisekedi who served as Prime Minister under different regimes is the father to the current President of DRC.
A state funeral for Late Tshisekedi is expected to take place on Saturday in the town of Nsele, east of Kinshasa, reports said.
Among other Several African heads of state who are expected to attend, included those of Angola, João Lourenço and the neighbouring Republic of Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso among others.
Veteran opposition leader Etienne Tshisekedi died in Belgium in February 2017, aged 84.
His body stayed in Brussels because of a row with former President Joseph Kabila
