APA-Cairo (Egypt) The Eritrean leader is in Cairo for a peace summit on the unrest in Sudan which has caused a serious refugee crisis for the region, APA cna report on Wednesday.
President Isaias Afwerki is in the Egyptian capital on the invitation of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to take part in the Summit of Leaders of Sudan’s neighbours.
The summit that convenes on 13 July will discuss ways and means to end the conflict in Sudan which has claimed thousands of lives and millions of refugees.
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, President Isaias was accorded a warm welcome by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports.
His delegation includes Mr. Osman Saleh, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Presidential Adviser Mr. Yemane Gebreab.
