Eswatini and Indonesia on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by Eswatini Foreign Minister Thulisile Dladla and her Indonesian counterpart Retno Marsudi during a ceremony attended by King Mswati III and Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
The agreement would see the two countries strengthening cooperation in several sectors such as trade, investment, mining, energy, green economy, agriculture, infrastructure development, tourism and health, according to a statement issued after the signing ceremony.
A delegation from the Indonesian private sector, to be led by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairperson Arsjad Rasjid, is expected to visit Eswatini over the next few months to consummate the agreement.
“Later, we will hold meetings from time to time to follow up on the progress in the implementation of the cooperation,” Marsudi said.
King Mswati is on a working visit to the Asian country.
