Ethiopian police seized an Isuzu FSR truck containing 40 quintals of cannabis in Asela town, Oromia regional state of the country.
The truck was intercepted on Saturday en route from Shashemene to Adama city at 11am local time, said Commander Tesfaye Degefa, crime control head of Asela police department.
The driver and his assistant as well as one suspect have been detained and they are under investigation, he told journalists on Saturday.
Police have seized thousands of smuggling firearms and drugs since the current prime minister Abiy Ahmed came to power in April last year.
