APA-Harare (Zimbabwe) American boxing legend Floyd Mayweather jetted into Harare on Thursday at the start of what has been dubbed “The Motherland Tour” that would also see him travelling to South Africa at the weekend.
The promoter and former professional boxer, who is on a two-day visit to Zimbabwe, arrived at Robert Mugabe International Airport around mid-morning aboard his private jet.
According to a programme of activities released by tour organisers Better Brands late Wednesday, the retired pugilist is expected to address prospective boxers and other young people at a stadium in Harare’s Mabvuku suburb on Thursday, as well as have an exclusive “Talk With Floyd Mayweather” engagement with paying Zimbabwean socialites later in the day.
He is also expected to be guest of honour during a Zimbabwe super-featherweight title contest between Aliyah Phiri and Ndodana Ncube.
