Arsene Wenger, a former coach of English premiership side Arsenal coach has arrived in Rwanda to attend the annual gorilla naming ceremony which is slated Friday in Kinigi a village in Northern Rwanda at the feet of Volcanoes National Park, an official source confirmed Thursday in Kigali.
Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has announced that that the gorilla naming ceremony, commonly known as “Kwita Izina”, will take place on September 6, and that among the namers are Arsenal legend Tony Adams and American RnB singer Ne-Yo.
“The 15th edition of the gorilla naming ceremony will take place on Friday and 25 baby gorillas will be named,” RDB’s Chief Tourism Officer, Belize Kariza said.
The Business of Conservation Conference, organised in partnership with the African Leadership University (ALU), will also take place on September 8-9 and will attract conservationists.
Other activities include the Rhino Cycling Velo Race/Eastern Province (August 24), umuganda and tennis tournament, (August 31 to September 1), 3km Gorilla Fun Run (September 5), and a gala dinner on September 7.
Before his career as a coach, Van Gaal played as a midfielder for Royal Antwerp, Telstar, Sparta Rotterdam, Ajax and AZ.
At club level, he served as manager of Ajax, Barcelona, AZ Alkmaar, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, as well as having two spells in charge of the Netherlands national team.
