Four Mauritanian gold panners died after the collapse of a mine in Gleib N’dor, in the far north of the country, APA learned on Monday from security sources.

The tragedy happened on Sunday and it took the rescue workers several hours to retrieve the four dead bodies from the well.
The collapse of gold panning wells have been regular in Mauritania in recent years.
In Gleib N’dor alone, 26 people had been killed and 40 others injured during artisanal gold exploration accidents in 2018.
