Despite the fact that his country is virtually unknown in Africa’s football landscape, Gambian coach Tapha Manneh is considered as a legend in Liberia’s LISCR FC since the 2016/2017 league season.
Manneh has become the first and only manager of LISCR to win the top flight and any league in Liberia without suffering a single defeat.
His side won the 2016/2017 Liberia First Division League with an unbeaten record in 22 league matches.
The club managed to win 10 games and garner 12 draws to complete the league season without a defeat.
Mr. Manneh’s LISCR football club is currently at the top of the Liberian football league table.
A former Gamtel FC coach in his native Gambia, Manneh won the Liberian championship with his club LISCR and the FA Cup in grand style.
His team was unbeaten in 22 league matches and went on to be crowned champions before winning the FA Cup against ELWA FC.
It was his first time coaching outside of his country.
The indomitable coach was also a footballer before foraying into coaching.
He played for Cheren FC Division II, Saraba FC Division I, Gamtel FC Division I all in The Gambia.
During his footballing days, he was portrayed as a disciplined, dutiful, tenacious player who was loved by both players and coaches.
Besides playing football, Tapha, was also a sports administrator.
He is a one time Vice chairman of Lamin Youth and Sports committee, a member of Gambia Football Association Organizing committee, Liaison officer, Gambia Football Coaches Association, acting Secretary General of the same association between 2011-2013.
He also served as Treasurer, Gambia Football Coaches Association, 1st vice president WCRFCA, Technical Director Lamin United FC- 2nd Division, President Kombo Kerewan FC WCR in the third tier of Gambian football.
He also coached the following clubs and national team: Lamin zonal team; Technician, Gamtel FC; Head Coach Gambia U20; Head coach Gamtel FC in Gambia.
