The Black Stars of Ghana defeated their Malian counterparts 2-1 in the third round match of the 2026 World Cup African qualifier match played on Thursday in Mali.
The match played at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako, saw the Malians take the lead with a goal scored in the first half of the match by Kamory Doumbia.
Ghana’s equalizer came early in the second half through Ernest Nuamah to bring the score line to 1-1.
The winning goal for the Black Stars came through substitute Jordan Ayew late in the second half of the game.
With this victory, Ghana will now occupy the second position on Group I table with 6 points behind Comoros which has superior goals advantage.
Ghana will take on Central African Republic for their next qualifying match on Monday, June 10, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
