Ghana Black Stars are expected to engage the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in an international friendly in Abu Dhabi next month, APA learns here.
The match is part of the team’s preparations ahead of the 2019 AFCON, Coach James Kwasi Appiah, has revealed.
The Daily Graphic reports on Friday that the match is one of three high profile matches lined up for the Black Stars, who are scheduled for a three-week training camp in the United Arab Emirates in June.
The other two matches have been scheduled for June 10 and 15, but they were yet to name their opponents.
Reports indicate that South Africa will also camp in Dubai ahead of the AFCON slated for Egypt in June.
The Black Stars won their last AFCON title in 1982 and the team is seeking to win their 5th AFCON title after playing in three finals recently and losing to Ivory Coast twice and Egypt.
It is expected that a provisional list of 30 players will be released by the Ghana Football Association on May 21, 2019.
